Dr. Virginia Lee is passionate about empowering patients to live their happiest and healthiest lives naturally. She gives compassionate care to all and loves seeing patients get better.
An avid clinician, Dr. Lee studied Integrative Medicine and the latest evidence-based acupuncture research through UCLA’s Department of Medicine. She is a regular guest lecturer at UCLA Medical School and has taught Integrative Health and Acupressure Workshops at UC Berkeley. She is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist & Herbalist and Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist.

How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is commonly used to support relief from pain, stress, anxiety, digestive issues, and sleep problems. Many patients also explore it for chronic conditions when conventional treatments haven’t fully resolved their symptoms.
How is AcuSuccess different from other acupuncture clinics in the Del Mar area?
Acupuncture involves placing very fine needles at specific points on the body to stimulate natural healing responses. It may help improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and support the nervous system.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes — when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner, acupuncture is considered very safe. We use sterile, single-use needles for every patient. Most people don’t feel anything at all when the needles are placed, and for those who do, it’s a brief, light sensation — like a small pinch that passes in an instant. Many patients report feeling deeply relaxed, at ease, or even drifting into a restful sleep during the session.
Does acupuncture hurt?
No — acupuncture doesn’t really hurt, and it’s nothing like a flu shot or a blood draw. The needles we use are extraordinarily fine — about the width of a human hair — and most patients don’t feel them being inserted at all. For those who do, it’s typically just a brief, light pinch that passes in a moment. Many patients describe feeling deeply calm and relaxed during their session, and some even fall asleep on the table.
